We here at SWTCTW love us some Kurt Vonnegut. Apparently, we are not alone in our love for him. Some suspect someone in marketing for Wal-Mart does too…here is the old Wal-Mart logo:
Okay, that’s good. But here’s the new one. Notice also they took the hyphen out! Now it is spelled exactly how people want it to be spelled! It’s not hard to just suck it up and put the hyphen in, people, but whatev:
And here is the drawing that Vonnegut did of his own asshole (not joking) in “Breakfast of Champions”:
The asterisk was symbolic for Vonnegut, and that is why some people are pointing this out to Wal-Mart, or should I now write, Walmart. I think it’s a little bit of stretch myself, but I get how people can connect it. Hell, you can connect Vonnegut to anything. He was just that good. So what about Walmart’s new logo? If you care, click here to read an article on MSN about what it means, etc. Or I could just summarize. The logo is “friendlier”. I love friendly! Right now I have an urge to drive down to my local 24 hour Walmart, just to say hello! And maybe pick up the ingredients to make guacamole.

The yellow things remind me of ear-plugs. Gross
Great stuff!
