Mallory’s post inspired me, and I’m not going to lie — I’ve missed our baby bloggy, too. So I’m back, again, blah blah blah. I came across this gem while perusing the Tumbly machine and I just knew it deserved a spot on Six Words:
It’s got it all. EVERYTHING that Mallory and I have blogged against in the past! Nic Cage, Comic Sans and Papyrus, Crocs, Internet Explorer, Nickelback. It’s brillz, simply brillz. Who made this? Can we be friends? Because I’m pretty sure we have ESPN or something.

Not only do I want a baby pig, I now also want a baby monkey. They can be friends. Hey, did you know Christmas is 39 days away? (Hint hint.)

So it turns out that I have crazy patterns when it comes to blogging. Don’t post for a month — er, or four — and then blog every day for six weeks. Now, I usually don’t go all “dear diary” on our dear readers, but I do want to share a reason for my disappearance this time:
I landed my dream job.
I did! I did! And honestly, I don’t know if I even would have gone for it if it were not for this bloggy right here. I’m not going to get in to details, but if you haven’t signed up for LivingSocial already you should. And when you get the deal emails every morning, you better think they are funny.
As always, Mallory does a fabulous job whenever I go on sabbatical. I can’t wait to sit on a couch with our matching Macs, drink wine, and co-blog again.
Reader, we’ve got a lot to catch up on.

Oh, LiLo. A few people have passed this my way already this morning. Lindsay is now saying the “f*** u” written on her fingernail was a just a joke, and it had nothing to do with her court appearance. It is almost unbelievable, at this point, that she isn’t smart enough to realize that she is under a microscope and something like that would be seen. Anyway, the Lohan believes all of this criticism is unfair, and that she has been subjected to cruelty, so she took to her Twitter account to clear things up.
She essentially claimed that her human rights had been violated, and tweeted Article 5 of the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Yes, really.
No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
And then she quotes law professor Erik Luna:
“November 1 marked the 15th anniversary of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. But there were no celebrations, parades, or other festivities in honor of this punishment scheme created by Congress and the U.S. Sentencing Commission… Instead, the day passed like most others during the last 15 years: Scores of federal defendants sentenced under a constitutionally perverted system that saps moral judgment through its mechanical rules.”
Well, we all know she’s wrong. And I have a smarty-pants friend that made logical points to counter Lindsay’s rambling:
a. She’s referring to the wrong body of law- this is a GA assembly resolution- the universal declaration of human rights is not binding to the US.
b. The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights is binding to the US.
c. Our own constitution protects against cruel and unusual punishment.
Celebrities! Who would we mock without them?
After that, she posted a link to the Newsweek story on Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, an Iranian woman who will be stoned to death for adultery. Let’s all hope she isn’t comparing her situation to that human rights tragedy.
But in all honesty, I find it sad that LiLo’s delusional enough to think that she doesn’t deserve to abide by the court’s rules like the rest of us. Maybe this whole experience will do the girl some good. (But that’s been said before, right?)

As much as it pains me to give one more second of publicity to the Jersey Shore kids, I feel obligated to post this… I did chuckle a bit. And as BuzzFeed put it, “Snooki’s acting shows way more range than Kristen Stewart’s.” See for yourself, readership!

Hey folks, ever lie in bed at night wondering what the first video EVER to be put on the YouTubes was? No, really, have you? Well, here is your answer. Five years ago today, Jawed Karim, one of YouTube’s founders, posted this video of himself at the San Diego Zoo. Thanks, Jawed, for starting one of the most entertaining outlets for people to publicly embarrass themselves… or, even more likely, embarrass their friends. A tip of the hat to you, sir! PS- Your video? BOOOOOOOOOOOORING.
Okay. So the video is pretty lame and I try to bring you entertaining yooootoooobs to make the work day go by a little faster. Here’s something cooler:
It’s not a trick, it’s an ILLUSION! Two points if you get the reference.
And on that note, I hope the next 2.5 hours fly by for you all!

During my morning news perusal, I came across a story on the HuffPo about Tiger Woods. First of all, I am SO OVER the Tiger Woods story, but this headline caught my eye: Tiger Woods Parties at Nickelback Concert in Orlando.
Which made me actually exclaim out loud, “does that man have a publicist?!”
Tiger, here’s a little free advice. If you want to rehab your image and not look like a huge d-bag, going to a Nickelback concert is not the way to go about it. It’s like Jon Gosselin wearing Ed Hardy and trying to rock a faux-hawk. You. Look. Bad.
Take your kids to a Wiggles concert. Move back to your hometown to “rediscover your roots”. Open up a golf course specifically for underprivileged children.
But please, Tiger, stay away from Nickelback. It’s for your own good. Trust me.
xoxo,
k

Happy Monday, y’all! I hope you all had gluttonous and drunken Thanksgivings, just as the Pilgrims intended.
On Saturday night after falling asleep circa 10 p.m. while attempting to research for a paper (RAGEEEEE), I had a really disturbing dream. There’s this newsletter that I’m supposed to be writing for one of my internships, and it’s been hanging over my head for months and stressing me out on a regular basis. I needed to get it done, oh, in September, so every time I think about it I get heart palpitations and feel like a bad person. Such a bad person, I guess, that in my dream I hired SARAH PALIN to help me finish the newsletter. SARAH. PALIN. I know what you’re thinking: “Mallory, she was a journalism major, and she did just write a book, in only a few months. The talent!” To which I counter with a very serious “HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.” The only good part about this dream was that I got to boss Palin around while she furiously took notes.
In other much, much better news, my mom sent me a really cute video the other day. I’m going to preface the video by telling you that you should not be expecting Beyonce-esque choreography here. The reason I love this video (and why I cried so much) is that it’s just a bunch of normal people having a ton of fun for a really good cause. How great is that?
Speaking of crying, I saw The Blind Side on Thanksgiving. I haven’t cried that hard in a movie since probably a few weeks ago, but guys it was BAD. I was with Kelsey and her fabulous roommate A.J., and Kelsey and I were legitimately making a scene. This means I’ve now seen at least four movies that made me cry so hard that strangers in the theater stared and made comments. Awesome. (UPDATE: This local DC blog has a pretty good guest post discussing The Blind Side and Precious. I saw Precious last Friday and holy jeebus, it was depressing. Good movie, but honestly such a bummer that I’m not sure I’d recommend it to many people.)
And to continue the stream-of-consciousness: A.J. is a really good dancer. One time, he did almost the whole Single Ladies dance while I awkwardly jumped around nearby. The other day, I asked him how long it took him to learn that dance, and he was all, “Oh, that? What do you mean? I didn’t ever really try to learn it. I was just having fun!” Sigh. Don’t you just hate some people?
