do babies poop in the womb?

My sister and I were watching this show about multiples on TLC, and as we were watching, she turned to me and asked, “Do babies cry in the womb?” And…I didn’t know. I mean, I don’t know anything about babies! Maybe they cry and we can’t hear them because it’s muffled by the womb? Maybe this is a totally stupid question?

Obviously, to try to figure out the answer to this burning question, we Googled it. But first, we let “do babies” sit there in the search box so we could see what the average person asks about babies. And oh dear god, I haven’t laughed this hard in a while:

I can’t even pick my favorite. Are there REALLY that many people out there wondering if babies have kneecaps?! (And as funny as I find these questions, I can’t definitively answer many of them…)

UPDATE: Babies DO cry in the womb! (This is from a website called BabyCenter, and it seems legit):

Yup. MSNBC did a cool medical in depth a few years ago on what a fetus does while gestating. All of the doctors in the study agreed that there is ultrasound proof of late term fetus “crying” as a result of being startled. Of course there is no sound (as noise is produced by air moving across the vocal chords), but what they are doing is crying, complete with gulps and chin quivering. Pretty damn cool.

youtube clip of today: hairless cat.

So I found this video on CUTE THINGS FALLING ASLEEP, the blog that makes me feel better even after openly weeping over my GRE math practice test.  (Oh yeah, the real one is going to be a blast.)  This cat is definitely falling asleep, but it only got a cuteness rating of 1 on the 1-5 scale.  Well.  It’s because it’s hairless!  ( Yeah yeah yeah, like Mr. Bigglesworth.)  Discrimination!  Bigots!  Hairists!

Okay, it’s a pretty heinous cat.  And I don’t recommend watching the entire three minutes of it falling asleep.  Seriously, cat people are so weird.  Why would they think the internet wants to watch a cat fall asleep for three minutes?!  Thirty seconds would do just fine.

Regardless, enjoy the hairless cat.

Not cute enough for you?

Or, my personal favorite:

Man, I feel like that some days.

the pregnant man is pregnant. again!

Thomas Beatie, the transgendered man who made headlines earlier this year by simply being a pregnant man, has got a bun in the oven!  Congrats to Thomas, his wife, Nancy, and their baby girl, Susan!  Susan, the competition starts now, kid.  You have to be the perfect oldest child, just like the rest of us first borns!

There’s nothing snarky to say about this, nor should there be.  Everyone is entitled to happiness.  Read the story and watch Thomas’ interview with Barbara Walters here.

And here are some pictures:

It’s really quite remarkable, isn’t it?

blog: yes we can (hold babies)

Say it ain’t so Joe, here I go again blogging about other people’s blogs.  (Hardy har har)  As if Saint Barack could not get any more perfect, now you can look at sickeningly adorable pictures of him with non-voters.  That means babies and other mini humans.  Yes, you can.  Yes, you want to.  Yes we can (hold babies).  Love love love.

Make this man president. DO IT.

nicole kidman pops out sunday rose.

According to hubby Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman had her baby today–a girl they named Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. Interesting choice of name. What automatically jumps out at me is the fact that Sunday was born on a Monday–if that doesn’t blow your mind I don’t know what does. Also, is it just me, or does Sunday Rose sound like a Yankee Candle fragrance name? Haha. Anyway, I hope that Sunday Rose and Maddie Briann can become friends and once Angelina has her twins the party will be complete! I wonder if Sunday Rose will be as cool as Shiloh or Suri? And don’t forget little Harlow (Nicole Ritchie’s baby…what a slutty name)! I could go on and on listing the strange names of celebrity babies, but I won’t.

Congratulations to Keith and Nicole on their baby and being SO original by choosing an unusual name!

Here is a Yankee Candle:

And here is Suri Cruise- I’ve been needing some sort of an excuse to post a picture of this beautiful child:

seventeen illegitimate buns in the oven.

Today is all about teen pregnancy! Woooo! First, Jamie Lynn. And by now I’m sure many of you have heard about the 17 Junos at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts. That’s wicked weird! (That was a Massachusetts joke- though I have been known to drop ‘wicked’ every now and then). The craziest part of all is that they WANTED to be preggers! Apparently these baby geniuses made a pact and are excited for their baby showers and to raise their children together.

What ever happened to friendship necklaces?

baby you should always walk tall.

Hooker heels for babies? Ha! What will they think of next? I’m currently trying to think of a play on the phrase “baby mama”, but nothing good comes to mind that doesn’t make me feel pervy and like I need to go to confession for just being a bad person. (Catholic guilt will always get you). I could never put a baby in something slutty, but this soulless, pagan, oh-so-cleverly called Heelarious, company has no problem with it. Here is what they have to say for themselves:

“WARNING: May cause extreme smiling and hysterical laughter when in use (this is completely normal).”

The nerve! Clearly, people are screaming left and right about children being pressured to get sexier at a younger age. Hey Miley, good job fueling that fire! You crazy kid!

I say, what the hell, I could have used the practice. That’s a joke people, but then again, so are these heels and I get that. Calm down and don’t get your diapers in a twist.

This child makes me want to have babies. Dear God, I cannot believe I just wrote that. No, but really, this kid is great. Why are baby videos so addicting?
