my new favorite blog (this week).

So for this past week, I’ve become addicted to a new (to me) blog: http://www.frkncngz.com. What does frkncngz mean? I have no idea. But what I do know is that this blog has all of these quotes and sometimes pictures that are either funny or emo or inspiring…all of my favorite things! I think I’ve spent at least an hour a day for the past week reading the archives, which I probably shouldn’t admit publicly. But whatever. Here are some of the ones that I love:

here, read this quote i liked.

Just stumbled across this quote on the blog of a pretty freaking hilarious and wacky 13-year-old (no, really, check her out), and I liked it, so now you get to read it:

Apparently it’s in a comic book series called The Sandman, and though it seems like a pretty unusual quote to come from a comic book, and though the cover of said comic book is a leetle terrifying, I’m intrigued.

thursdays are for secondhand inspirational quotes.

This quote  is a little touchy-feely, but it really struck me. It reminds me of something my roommate loves to say: “You’re the master of your own destiny.” That’s cheesy too, but it’s damn true, and we can all use the reminder every now and again.

i love me some hemingways (plural).

A hearty SWTCTW congratulations to Floridian Tom Grizzard, who won this year’s prestigious Ernest Hemingway look-alike contest in Key West. It’s his eighth time competing. Eighth time’s the charm, buddy! He beat out 141 other Ernests for his prize, which is–well, come to think of it, it’s not stated in the article. But I’m sure it’s AWESOME. Maybe it’s the baller medallion hanging from his noble neck?  Where can I get me one of those?

And I thought this picture of all the Ernests was fantastic. So much passion! Got me all fired up!

But besides applauding Tom Grizzard for his innate, genetic inclination towards resembling a Nobel prize winning author, I wanted to post some quotes from our friend Ernest.
