youtube clip of today: t-mobile dance.

The geniuses at T-Mobile must be staring into my soul.  They must know me, because I am obsessed with their viral video campaign and have dreamed each one of these scenarios.  First, I posted the “Hey Jude” video, where thousands of people were singing together.  Now, this one, with people dancing in a train station.  Why doesn’t this happen where I live?!

things i should have posted earlier.

Yeah yeah yeah.  I know.  I could have posted it this weekend (or yesterday), but nerd statistics show that nobody reads the blog on the weekend anyway, proving that you all use this while you are being paid by your unsuspecting employers. I love it!

SNL had a really good weekend.  Another JT/Andy Samberg song.  Oh girl, I love me some JT.   And Samberg.  RAWR.  If you like “Dick in a Box”, you’ll like this one too:

[clearspring_widget title=”SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE – Digital Short: Motherlover” wid=”4727a250e66f9723″ pid=”4a096ba17ff67505″ width=”384″ height=”283″ domain=”widgets.nbc.com”]

So that’s what your coworker is singing that you had no idea about.  A big SWTCTW you’re welcome!  What a beautiful ode to Mother’s Day.  Oddly enough though, I won’t be showing that to my mom.

That was funny, now let’s get political and funny.  In case you didn’t know, we have the greatest most bestest president in the entire world!  He is hilarious!  Here is his speech at the annual White House Correspondent’s Dinner:

The best joke in here is a little inside, I know!  It’s the one he makes about John Boehner (pronounced like BAINER, not BONER) being a person of color.  John Boehner, the House Minority leader, has skin that particular shade of orange that only comes from fake tanning.  See?

He’s even oranger in person, if oranger is a word.

Wanda Sykes was also REALLY funny, but I can’t do all the work for you, so you need to look that up yourself.

I’m off to stalk the news and find funny stuff to post!  You know you love me.  XOXO, i forgot to blog this weekend girl.

youtube clip of today: twilight remix.

It speaks volumes that Kathleen and I each independently discovered this video and intended to post about it. Or perhaps it just speaks to the creepy way some videos become viral overnight. Either way, I love this. Not exactly the funniest thing I’ve ever seen, but it’s perfect for reminding all of us how ridiculous our obsession with Twilight is. (Don’t deny it; I know you daydream of Edward Cullen.) I’ve only read the first book and can’t get through the second because it’s so bad, but damn gurl, I loved that first book. And I’m ashamed to admit that for like a month, I monitored my thoughts because I was convinced that some people could read my mind. (I wish, more than anything, that I was joking.) Anyway, enjoy this version of Twilight…with cheeseburgers:

john krasinski goes indie, plus beard.

Two video posts in a row maaay seem a little lazy and lame but it’s so worth it because we all must go see this movie together (I’m talking to you, 300-odd regular readers) and smile the whole time and eat Red Vines and fall deeply, deeply in love with a — wait for it — BEARDED John Krasinski:

Now, our love for John Krasinski has been pretty well documented on this blog, here and here and here and here. But I’ve yet to see Johnny K branch out and do a movie that I actually wanted see. I’m always afraid they’ll be bad and ruin my perfect love for him. (No John, seriously, are you listening? I’m tall too. Pretty witty. Did I mention I think we’re soulmates?) This movie, however, actually looks good. A little indie, a little funny, a little tugging-at-the-heart-strings; it’s a holy trinity of movie goodness. Plus, the movie was directed by Sam Mendes, husband of SWTCTW girl crush Kate Winslet AND SWTCTW’s very own Kathleen looks eerily like Maya Rudolph. So there’s that.

FYI, the song in the preview is Alexi Murdoch’s “All My Days.”

Thanks to sometime guest blogger Madeline for the tip!

youtube clip of today: susan boyle.

Today’s clip goes hand in hand with the SWTCTW cliche life lesson of the day (which I just started.  Right now.  And probably won’t continue tomorrow.): never judge a book by its cover.

Watch this video.  The whole thing.

UPDATED:  Here it is again if the first one doesn’t work.

youtube clip of today: extreme sheepherding.

Extreme sheepherding…is it a sport?  Is this even real!?  I love this sort of tomfoolery!  Happy Monday, work force!

“you learned english?” “just in cases…”

So the roommate and I are having a lounge day of healing the ankle for real and watching as many chick flicks as we can stomach. We both agreed that Nights in Rodanthe is perhaps one of the worst films ever made (you’re saying…well, what were we expecting? It was a Nicholas Sparks novel. And we say, um, touche?) but JESUS I could watch Love Actually a hundred times over and never get sick of it. Each time, I sob with joy at the end. If you don’t agree with me, I say you don’t have a soul. I will argue with you about this. I mean, look at Karl (aka Rodrigo Santoro):

If nothing else, you should love Love Actually for Karl.

And wise observation of the day, courtesy of the roomie: Every Nicholas Sparks movie can end with a person walking on the beach wearing a cable-knit sweater.

youtube clip of the day: airplane rap.

This is why I love Southwest!  Okay, is it just me, or would this be even better with the Fresh Prince music playing in the back?

My grandmother is actually the cutest person in the world and LOVES to watch the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on Nick at Night before she goes to bed.  She’ll inform us that she is watching “The Prince” and then retires to her room.  Haha.  Though recently she’s developed an addiction to Keith and Rachel, which conflicts with “The Prince”.  Such is life.

And now that the Fresh Prince theme song is stuck in your head for the next week, I should just help you out/make it worse:

Happy Tuesday!

enough about me, more about you.

I’m feeling ever-so-slightly like I might be getting sick, and I have eaten enough this weekend to feed a small country for a month, but instead of resting up for work tomorrow, I’m dicking around on my computer and listening to music. The other day I downloaded a bunch of self-pitying emo songs about being lonely, but in the iTunes frenzy I accidentally bought a really ridiculously adorable song:

Bonus points for the beginning of a beard.

the white house goes shamrock green!

White House fountains run green for St Patrick's Day at Michelle Obama's request

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!  I’d say something cool and witty in Gaelic, but guess what, I’m too lazy to look it up!  Anyway, St. Patrick’s Day is being celebrated at the White House this year Obama style.  Meeeesh had them dye all the fountain water green!  Love her.

And now, perhaps for the first time ever, a SWTCTW repost.  Dearest Madeline found this gem and posted it awhile back, but I think today’s as great a day as any to show it again.  I present to you the song “There’s No One As Irish As Barack Obama”!

It’s no “Danny Boy”, but I think I love it.  Have a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day!  Do something Irishy!  Drink something Guinnessy!  Get lucky…in the Irish sort of way.

PS- Found this article to make us all sophisticated while celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.  (It’ll tell you what Erin Go Bragh actually means, so maybe you should check it out.)
